Housing construction increased by one third in Bashkiria

The volume of housing construction in the republic increased by 31.9% compared with January-May last year, the Bashkortostan Statistics Agency reports.

In the first five months of this year, 10.1 thousand apartments with a total area of more than 814 thousand square meters were built in the territory of the republic. 201 square meters of housing were put into operation per one thousand inhabitants.

In the structure of housing construction, the share of housing built by the population at their own expense and with the help of loans amounted to 67.1% in the region. Residents built 4,849 own houses with a total area of over 546 thousand square meters. This is 8.3% more than in January-May 2018.

Over the same period, developers-legal entities commissioned more than 268 thousand square meters of housing, which is 2.4 times more than in the first five months of 2018.

Among the regions of the Volga Federal District, the republic is in the second place in terms of the total area of commissioned residential premises, in the third place in housing per capita, statisticians summarized.
