Bashkiria in federal media: French companies have already chosen Ufa while Germans are exploring region’s potential

According to Stroygazeta, the head of the Ministry of Construction of Russia, Vladimir Yakushev, within the framework of the SPIEF, discussed with the CEO SUEZ Group of Companies Bertrand Camus the prospects for cooperation in creating “smart cities”. Cooperation with the French company has been carried out since July 2018 within the framework of the Russian-French working group “Sustainable and smart cities”. It is marked that “to demonstrate the effectiveness of the French smart technologies implementation”, the company has already identified a pilot - the city of Ufa in the Republic of Bashkortostan. As the minister explained, SUEZ company expressed its readiness to co-invest in water treatment facilities, water quality control, offer digital solutions for water quality control, mains in Bashkortostan, the newspaper added.

Nezavisimaya Gazeta discussed the chances of renewable energy in Russia. The publication learned that the German news agency Deutsche Welle published a study on "what role could play solar energy in a northern country with large reserves of fossil energy, like Russia." The article says that both the sun and the wind produce together less than 1% of electricity now in the Russian Federation. While in Germany, renewable energy sources already generate almost 47% of electricity.

The author’s team focuses on the analysis of the Russian photovoltaic market using the example of two regions: the Krasnodar Territory and the Kaliningrad Region. Nezavisimaya Gazeta stated that "the Berlin company intends to explore the potential of two more regions of the Russian Federation. One has already been determined: this is Bashkortostan. The management of the company will announce the second one at the "Ren4Reg - Renewable Energy for Regional Development" International Forum, which will be held in Moscow from June 18 to 20".
