Radiy Khabirov spends May Day at sowing campaign

UFA, 1 May 2019. /Bashinform News Agency, Azat Gizatullin/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.
The Acting Head of Bashkortostan celebrates May Day in the fields - the sowing campaign is actively on-going in the region. Today, Radiy Khabirov makes a working trip to several districts, where he examines the course of spring sowing and the work of agricultural enterprises. The first point of his business trip was the fields of the “Artemida” farm in the Karmaskaly district, where maize and other crops are being sown now. In a conversation with the head of the region, farmers asked for support by subsidizing the purchase of liquid fertilizers, which make it possible to get higher yields. Radiy Khabirov instructed the head of the agrarian department to work through this question: "This year we have good revenues to the republican budget, so there are funds available to support the agro-industrial complex in the treasury."
Today, farmers face the task of sowing as soon as possible, given the small amount of moisture in the soil and dry weather.
According to the Interim Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Agriculture of Bashkortostan Ilshat Fazrakhmanov, 321.6 thousand hectares of spring crops were sown as of April 30, about 20% of the planned plan.
“We will have to replant about 137 thousand hectares of winter crops (about 30% of the total area). It will take about two days of work. Sowing of high-margin crops such as rape, mustard, flax, and chickpeas is very active. The agrarians of the republic are provided with all the necessary planting materials, there are no problems with seeds and fuel, we hope for good young crops, ”Ilshat Fazrahmanov said.
According to the head of the agricultural department, farmers are actively developing abandoned land, and the efficiency of resource use is increasing. Spring sowing in the republic is planned to be completed by June 10.
In the Karmaskaly district this year, the sown area will amount to 69.5 thousand hectares (+2348 hectares by 2018), of which: cereals and leguminous plants 42.4 thousand hectares (+767 hectares), including winter crops 14.8 thousand hectares, of which 4.4 thousand hectares were lost due to weather conditions.
