Natural gas deep processing production will be built in Salavat

Negotiations between Gazprom and Bashkiria authorities on the construction of a new complex for processing natural gas into ethylene and propylene at the “Gazprom neftekhim Salavat” have reached a new level. Radiy Khabirov, the Acting Head of the republic, said at a briefing session in the Government that following his meeting with the company head Alexei Miller it was instructed to complete the development of a feasibility study on the complex creation. A meeting is being prepared on this matter; it will be held on May 31.

Plans for the construction of the new production unit appeared in 2017 based on calculations that in previous years Bashkortostan consumed about 20 billion cubic meters of gas per year, now - 15 billion. The remaining difference - from 2 billion to 5 billion cubic meters, can be used for other purposes, for example, as a raw material for deep processing. Investment in the project may exceed several billion US dollars. Initially, the construction of a complex by the Chinese company Wison was considered.
