Shipping navigation solemnly opened in Ufa

Today, April 26, a celebration of the navigation opening took place in Ufa. The main event was a parade of riverboats. A festive concert program with the participation of the brass band of the river school, speeches of honored guests, flag raising was prepared for the visitors. Among the honored guests there were also labor collectives of water transport enterprises and honored veterans of the river fleet.

Opening the celebration, the Acting Deputy Prime Minister of the Government - Minister of Land and Property Relations Oleg Polstovalov noted that much was being done in the republic for the development of river navigation, extracting mineral resources from the bottom of rivers, increasing the profitability of this economic sector.

As noted in his speech by the Interim Minister of Transport RB Timur Mukhametianov, this year the republic’s leadership made a historic decision to support the development of river navigation and the further development of the river shipping industry.

“The Acting Head of the Republic saw to this issue personally. It is especially important that this happened in the year of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Bashkortostan and the 95th anniversary of the executive bodies formation in the field of transport,” the minister noted.

The guests wished the workers of the republic’s river fleet trouble-free navigation, the traditional “Fair winds and following seas!”.

Colorful fireworks and balloons launched into the sky closed the ceremony.
