Rustam Minnikhanov on agreement between republics: fraternal Tatarstan is always nearby

UFA, 18 April 2019. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.
The Acting Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov and the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov signed an agreement between the two governments on trade, economic, scientific, technical, social and cultural cooperation in Ufa on April 18. The agreement was signed as part of the Days of Tatarstan in Bashkortostan.
Radiy Khabirov stressed that today's intergovernmental agreement was of great importance.
“Many Bashkir enterprises actively cooperate with Tatarstan enterprises. However, it is necessary to increase the goods turnover between the two republics further. The list of goods should only expand from year to year, ”the head of the republic said and expressed confidence that “holding the Days of the Republic of Tatarstan will broaden the scope of our cooperation”.
For these purposes, a representative office of the Republic of Bashkortostan will be opened in Tatarstan in the near future. A similar representative office of Tatarstan in Bashkortostan is already working.
“Bashkortostan is the first among the republics of Russia to celebrate the centenary of modern statehood. It reached its anniversary with good economic performance. I am sure that our regions will be able to realize the richest potential for mutually beneficial cooperation. There have always been and will be only friendly relations between our two republics. The fraternal Tatarstan is always nearby”, said Rustam Minnikhanov.
According to the President of Tatarstan, today's agreement between the governments of the two fraternal republics "will mark a new stage in our relations".
At present, the trade turnover between Bashkortostan and Tatarstan already exceeds 34 billion rubles, but the economic potential is still far from being exhausted.
Among the priority areas for active cooperation are agriculture, tourism, petrochemical production, innovation, culture, and education.
