Eco-fuel will be used in cement production in Bashkiria

Environmentally friendly fuel will be used in the production of cement in the republic.

The Ministry of Industry and Innovation Policy of Bashkiria has concluded a cooperation agreement with HeidelbergCement Rus LLC and the regional operator Eco-city. The parties agreed to develop long-term and effective cooperation in the development and implementation of RDF fuels.

The use of alternative RDF fuel instead of coal, oil, gas reduces carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere. Accordingly, the burning of such fuel in cement kilns has a lower impact on the environment, Olesya Arameleva, a spokeswoman for the “Eco City” regional operator, explained.

The agreement is another step in the creation of the first ecological technology park in Bashkiria for processing industrial and solid municipal waste. At the moment, a cluster of residents and industrial partners of the future environmental technology park is being formed in the region.
