Radiy Khabirov promised to speak in Viennese dialect in Austria

Radiy Khabirov promised to speak in the Viennese dialect in Austria. The head of the region said that he would do it on condition that Austrian investments in Bashkortostan exceed 5 billion euros.
On April 10, a presentation of the investment and economic potential of Bashkortostan took place in Vienna. It was attended by business representatives and officials of the Republic of Austria. Welcoming speech to the participants of the presentation was delivered by the Acting Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov, who started his speech in German. He thanked the Austrian colleagues for the warm welcome and their interest in Bashkortostan, one of the largest and most developed regions of the Russian Federation.
According to Radiy Khabirov, Bashkortostan maintains trade and economic ties with 118 countries of the world and is one of the most active exporting regions. The volume of foreign trade turnover of the republic amounted to about 4.5 billion euros last year. The region plans to reopen its trade missions abroad. A trade mission in Austria, the turnover with which is steadily growing, will be one of the first to open. In 2018 alone, it increased by almost 18 percent. In Bashkortostan, there are ten enterprises with Austrian capital. Among the examples of successful cooperation, the head of the republic named a launch of the ceramic tiles and dry construction mixes production by the Lasselsberger company, the Kronospan woodworking plant, the production of mobile hoisting equipment by the Palfinger company.
“We are ready to develop joint projects in the construction industry, medicine, energy, utilities, engineering, in the field of high and energy-efficient technologies,” said Radiy Khabirov.
The Acting Head of Bashkortostan said that since June, direct flights between Ufa and Vienna would be started. Sale of tickets for flights has already begun.
The head of the region also invited representatives of the Austrian business community to take part in the “Trans-Urals” investment campaign, which will be held in June.
In Vienna, Radiy Khabirov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Austria Dmitry Lyubinsky, Vice President of the Association of Industrialists of Austria Hubert Berch, Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the National Council of the Parliament of Austria Gerald Hauser and Chairman of the Finance Committee of the National Council of Parliament, Chairman of the Parliamentary Friendship Group of Austria - Russia Karlheinz Kopf. During the meetings, prospects for strengthening cooperation between Bashkortostan and Austria, expanding investment cooperation were discussed.
