Moody's has included Bashkortostan in economically successful Russian regions

In the next two years, Bashkiria will become one of the most successful regions of Russia from an economic point of view. It is reported by TASS with reference to the research by Moody's rating agency. Along with Bashkortostan, according to analysts of the rating agency, the number of economically prosperous subjects of the country included the same resource-based regions - the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District and Tatarstan, as well as the Moscow and Leningrad Regions.

“Investment in the producing areas remained strong amid high oil prices and the ruble devaluation. We expect the economic conditions to remain unchanged in 2019, with high-interest rates and early signs of upcoming stagnation in the manufacturing sector. At the same time, due to tax deductions, the export-oriented regions will continue to outpace other regions of the Federation”, analysts say.

In 2018, the GRP of Bashkortostan reached almost a half trillion rubles, which is by 1% more compared to a year earlier. The Acting Head of the republic Radiy Khabirov stated it, delivering a report on the work of the regional government at a meeting of the State Assembly - Kurultay RB.

“In industry, production volumes added 3.4%, which is higher than the national average (RF - 2.9%). The turnover of small businesses and retail trade increased. In general, we run a profit margin. Nevertheless, we should understand what needs to be done to continue economic growth, ”said Khabirov.

Earlier, Moody’s confirmed the long-term credit rating of Bashkiria at the level of Ba2 with a positive outlook.
