17 billion rubles are planned to be invested in high-speed tram construction in Ufa

In Ufa, a high-speed tram line along October Avenue will still be built. According to the plan of the Republican State Committee for Transport and Road Management, it will take 17 billion rubles of investments, the head of department Timur Mukhametianov said in the broadcast of Ekho Moskvy radio in Ufa.

According to the head of State Transport Committee of Bashkortostan, the high-speed tram will connect the northern and southern parts of Ufa. Most likely, the lines will be laid either underground or above ground.

“The tram will be included in the public transport system of the city, where it is also planned to include a looped city electric train and bus routes,” the radio station editorial office quoted Mukhametianov.

The payback of the project, according to the plan, will occur in 28-30 years. The preliminary date of construction commencement is not reported.

As previously informed by the Bashinform News Agency, in November 2018, the regional State Committee for Transport and Road Management began an active search for an investor to build the high-speed tram in Ufa. Then, according to the head of the department, works were carried out jointly with the Ministry of Transport of Russia, and a consultation was held by the BRICS Development Bank.
