It is planned to install more than 500 smart surveillance cameras in Ufa

In Ufa, it is planned to install 541 video cameras, which will conduct an automatic analysis of the observed situation. The cameras will be installed as part of the implementation of the state and municipal program “Modern Urban Environment Formation”.

The operation of such systems is based on special software capable of analyzing the resulting image according to specified algorithms. In some cases, smart video cameras are more effective than traditional security systems, for example, fire alarm sensors. Video analytics can be especially effective where the use of fire detectors is difficult or impossible. As a rule, these are open areas, parking lots, internal territories of enterprises.

The CCTV system “Safe City” operating in Ufa today performs only an overview function, without the possibility of automatic analysis of the observed situation. It includes 388 video cameras. Of these, 358 (92% of the total) are modern IP video cameras of surveillance video surveillance, including 192 rotary and 83 stationary cameras with a possibility of zooming, that is, an object approaching which allows distinguishing persons, car plates.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Bashkortostan, in 2018, in the territory of Ufa, 28 crimes and 153 administrative offenses were solved using the information obtained from video cameras.
