New building of republican oncologic center will be commissioned in first quarter of 2020

Construction of an annex to the surgical building of the Republican Oncologic Center was started in 2017. During this time, 339.5 million rubles were spent on the site. The total cost of construction is estimated at 1.65 billion rubles, of which 781 million will be spent on construction and installation work and 741.7 million rubles on equipment.

On January 18, 907 million rubles were allocated by order of the Bashkiria Government for the current year. In 2020, the funds will amount to 268.9 million rubles.

Today, the Acting Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov inspected construction of the new building of the Oncologic Center. The Interim Minister of Health RB Maxim Zabelin said that the facility was scheduled to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2020. The capacity of the hospital is 240 beds and 450 visits per shift. The hospital admissions offices, reception, wardrobe and a separate unit with a bacteriological laboratory will be located on the first floor. A computed tomography room, a digital X-ray diagnostic room, and a digital mammography room will be located on the second floor. The transfusiology, diagnostic and treatment and examination rooms of the polyclinic will occupy the entire third floor. An in-patient facility with five departments with two ward sections will be located from 4th to 8th floors.

The head of Bashkortostan in a conversation with the chief physician of the Republican Oncologic Center Ruslan Sultanov noted the importance of preventing and detecting cancer at early stages. Radiy Khabirov informed that he would sign a decree on awarding the employees of polyclinics, who revealed oncology at early stages.

“Also in the next three years, 13 outpatient oncological care centers will open in Bashkiria at hospitals: four in Ufa and nine in the cities of the republic,” said Maxim Zabelin, answering a question of the Bashinform News Agency.

According to him, a meeting of oncologists of the Volga Federal District, where the best specialists will share their experience and tell about new methods of treatment will be held in Ufa in June.
