UFA, 13 March 2019. /Bashinform News Agency/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. Nine major infrastructure projects much-needed by Bashkortostan were presented by Timur Mukhametianov, the Chairman of the State Committee for Transport and Road Facilities of Bashkortostan, at an expanded meeting of the Economic Policy Committee of the Federation Council with the participation of a delegation from Bashkortostan.
Timur Mukhametyanov reminded that the Comprehensive Plan for the modernization and expansion of the trunk infrastructure of Russia, formed on the instructions of Vladimir Putin, had already included nine facilities of the Republic of Bashkortostan in the amount of 62.6 billion rubles with a length of 119 km.
According to representatives of the republic, this is not enough; at least seven more road infrastructure facilities and two railway facilities should be included in the plan.
It is, first of all, financing the construction of the Eastern exit from Ufa to the M-5 “Ural” highway. The total investment is 34 billion rubles. It is one of the most developed projects. The republic has already started financing the project in the amount of almost 1 billion rubles at the expense of its own funds, and at the expense of the concessionaire in the amount of 222 million rubles. The Ministry of Transport supports the project, however, sufficient funding has not yet been received.
The second major project, also implemented by a concession agreement, is a construction of the Sterlitamak-Kaga-Magnitogorsk road, 183 km long. The construction of this road will give impetus to the development of Trans-Urals, which is currently connected with the rest of the republic only by a mountain road through Beloretsk. The total investment here is almost 14 billion rubles, the need for federal funding is 6.5 billion rubles. This project is also supported by the Federal Ministry of Transport, but there is not sufficient funding allocated for it.
It was also said about the reconstruction of the Birsk-Tastuba-Satka road in Duvan and Karaidel districts. The project involves the creation of a new federal highway, which will be held on a new bridge in Ulyanovsk and will be an alternative for the M5 and M7 routes. The total investment in the project is 7.7 billion rubles, the need for federal funds is 4 billion rubles.
In terms of the railway infrastructure development, Ufa presented two projects - construction of the Southern Bypass of Ufa, through which, most transit trains would go. It requires the construction of 19 km of tracks and three bridges across the Belaya, Taush and Yurmash rivers, as well as two overpasses over the routes. The project has not been worked out yet, but its idea was supported by the Ministry of Transport of Russia.
The second railway project, which has the most distant prospect of implementation, is the construction of the Ufa-Chernushka lateral line as part of the Moscow-Kazan-Yekaterinburg high-speed railway with an investment volume of 263 billion rubles.
They also spoke about the construction of a cargo river port in the city of Agidel with an investment volume of 26 billion rubles. The project is important for establishing grain supplies to Turkey and Iran.
“We hope that in total it will be possible to include ten objects of the republic’s road infrastructure in the state program of the Russian Federation“ Development of the transport system ”with the need to finance more than 59 billion rubles. The profile committee of the Federation Council supported us in this matter, ”said the Speaker of the Bashkir parliament Konstantin Tolkachev after the committee meeting.
