State Transport Committee told about reconstruction progress at Ufa airport

A reconstruction of the domestic terminal has begun at the Ufa airport. Timur Mukhametianov, head of the State Transport Committee RB, informed at the “Transport Hour” session in the Government that an extension would be erected first and then the old building will be reconstructed. As a result, the terminal capacity will double: from 600 to 1,200 passengers per hour. The technical opening of the facility is scheduled for December 2019.

To date, the site has already been prepared for construction, engineering networks have been moved and a new substation has been installed to provide electricity supply.

The equipment for the new terminal has already been purchased. These are telescopic ladders, equipment for inspection, handling and delivery of baggage. The department reports that in March the number of workers at the facility will increase from 60 to 200 people, the work will be carried out in three shifts.

The cost of reconstruction amounted to 2.6 billion rubles, federal funds are being attracted to finance the project.
