"Native Street" program will be launched in Bashkiria

The Acting Head of the Republic, Radiy Khabirov, at a briefing session in the Bashkiria Government, said that the region would adopt a new program, “Native Street”. Its essence is that at least a central street should be asphalted in every village. According to the head of the republic, the “Native Street” program should be intended until 2024, and a decision which street to accomplish should be taken by the residents themselves at rural gatherings. The Interim Deputy Prime Minister of Bashkiria Raif Abdrakhimov is appointed responsible for the implementation of the program and its final development.

Radiy Khabirov spoke about the fact that such a program could be launched during a seminar-meeting with the heads of rural settlements in the north-west of the republic, who reported about the lack of normal roads in villages.

Timur Mukhametianov, the Chairman of the State Committee for Transport of Bashkortostan, said that in the republic more than 11 thousand kilometers of roads of a transitional type of coating with crushed-stone materials and sand gravel mix from local quarries should be made. Of these, more than 8 thousand are the road network, 3000 - access roads. It requires 5.7 billion rubles.

Radiy Khabirov instructed to make these areas pilot for the free use of sand and gravel quarries for filling the roads. The head of the road department asked the head of Bashkiria to allocate additional 540 million rubles from the budget this year (10 million for each district) for the repair of roads. It will allow repairing more than 1,000 km of roads more. Radiy Khabirov instructed the Government to consider this issue and make proposals on it within a week.
