Bashkiria intends to increase foreign trade by establishing representative offices abroad

In 2019, a large task to increase the volume of foreign trade turnover of Bashkiria in general and non-oil exports, in particular, is to be achieved. This was stated by the Chairman of the State Committee RB for Foreign Economic Relations Ruslan Mirsayapov.

“The real-time forecast for 2019 implies an increase in the export performance of most major exporters of the republic,” he said at a board meeting of the department. “With the joint efforts of commodity producers, the republican government, with the active support and assistance of the Russian Export Center and the Regional Center for Export Support, we plan to achieve growth in foreign trade by the end of this year.”

The main tools to achieve this goal will be the opening of representative offices and trading houses of Bashkiria abroad, participation in specialized international exhibitions, as well as participation in the work of intergovernmental commissions and working groups of Russia and foreign countries.

As reported by Bashinform News Agency according to the results of 2018, the foreign trade turnover of Bashkiria grew by 6.6% and amounted to $5.4 billion, having exceeded the forecast values ​​by 14.9%.

These indicators were achieved due to growth in exports of mineral products (1.9%), agricultural products (2.1 times), chemical products (4.9%) and engineering products (2.7%), as well as imports of engineering products.

Exports rose by 2% to $ 4.4 billion. Imports grew by 32.7% to $ 1.0 billion.

The volume of non-oil non-energy exports amounted to $ 1.9 billion, or 43% of the total exports of Bashkiria.

At present, over 800 enterprises of the republic carry out export activities. This is quite a solid indicator compared with other Russian regions, the board meeting marked. At the same time, 90% of exports are formed by 20 large republican companies.
