Bashkiria will become pilot region for export standard 2.0 introduction
UFA, 15 February 2019. /Bashinform News Agency, Azat Gizatullin/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.
Bashkortostan will become one of 11 regions of Russia for the implementation of Regional Export Standard 2.0. The relevant agreement was signed by the Acting Head of the republic Radiy Khabirov and the Russian Export Center JSC CEO Andrei Slepnev within the framework of the Russian Investment Forum Sochi-2019.
The regional export standard 2.0 is a set of measures that contribute to enhancing export activities in the region. Target results and areas of cooperation are an increase in the number of exporters, including from among SMEs, the volume of non-oil non-energy exports and the expansion of export geography in Bashkortostan.
“Your republic is one of the powerful regions with the developed industry and good export opportunities. There is a potential for export growth. Moreover, it should be understood that the companies operating in foreign markets are transforming the region’s economic climate, ”said Andrei Slepnev, the Russian Export Center CEO.
As reported by the Bashinform News Agency, in 2018, Bashkiria traded with 98 countries. The trade turnover amounted to about $ 5 billion – by 10% more than in 2017, but slightly less than in 2016 — the export share was 85%. The main exports from Bashkiria are engineering products (mainly aircraft engines and their parts), chemical products (styrene, urea, synthetic rubber, butyl ether, monophenols, soda ash, acrylic acid), mineral products (mixtures of hydrocarbon liquid pyrolysis products, oil lubricants). Previously, low activity of the republic’s small business in exporting its products abroad was marked repeatedly.
