Bashkortostan selected as pilot region for Smart City project implementation

The Acting Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov held a working meeting with the Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Utility Services of the Russian Federation Andrei Chibis in the House of the Republic. The prospects for the implementation of the Smart City project in the region were discussed there. Ufa is already included in the list of pilot municipalities.

The city administration has prepared a roadmap for the introduction of new technologies for 2019-2025. These are advanced solutions aimed at improving the efficiency of municipal and energy infrastructure, reducing the costs of resource-saving organizations, in particular, energy-efficient urban lighting, automated monitoring of road services, online monitoring of the environment and water quality, a modern waste management system. The project partner is the French group of companies SUEZ.

“Bashkortostan and Ufa were chosen as a pilot region of the Smart City project not by chance. Currently, it is a global trend. Moreover, the fact that French experts consider cooperation with the republic promising is a merit of your team. Taking into account the existing potential, Bashkortostan can become the most advanced of the subjects in the implementation of the Smart City project and serve as a training ground for exchanging experience with other regions, ”said Andrei Chibis.

In turn, the Acting Head of Bashkortostan positively assessed the impact of modern technologies on the quality of life in human settlements.
