New housing commissioning fell by 7 percent in Bashkiria over year

UFA, 6 February 2019. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.
The commissioning of new housing in Bashkiria fell by 7 percent for 2018 compared with 2017. Moreover, it decreased by 8.8 percent compared with 2016, Bashkortostan Statistics Agency reports.
In general, last year, about 2.3 million square meters of housing was were in the republic, with a total value of 188.6 billion rubles. 428 thousand "squares" of the total area of commissioned residential houses were put into operation in December.
As previously reported by the Bashinform News Agency, Bashkiria takes the second place among the regions of the Volga Federal District in the first 11 months of 2018 for the commissioning of residential buildings, and the third in commissioning of housing per capita.
According to preliminary data, the average cost of one square meter in the new housing market in Bashkiria reached 57.9 thousand rubles in the fourth quarter of 2018. It was by 6 percent more than a year ago.
Prices for "secondary housing" in the region rose a little less - 53.3 thousand rubles per square meter on average. The cost of housing in the secondary market increased by 4.6 percent in the republic compared to the fourth quarter of 2017.
At the same time, real estate market players do not rule out that the rise in prices in the new housing sector, in particular, in Ufa will amount to 15-20 percent in 2019.
The representatives of the State Committee for Construction and Architecture of Bashkortostan acknowledge that “there are fears that such a figure will be reached” but the department’s forecast is less extreme.
“Now we are forecasting 10-12 percent,” said Artem Kovshov, deputy chairman of the State Construction Committee RB, at the Bashinform agency in January.
