In 2018, foreign trade turnover in Bashkiria, according to analysts of the Bashkortostan Customs, amounted to $1.85 billion, including exports - $1.6 billion (86.4% of foreign trade turnover), imports - $252.5 million (13.6 %). Last year, the share of trade with non-CIS countries amounted to 91% of the total commodity turnover, with the CIS countries – to 9% (in 2017 - 89% and 11%). The foreign economic activity was conducted with 98 countries.
The largest trading exports partners were China (25%), India (14%), Finland (12%), the Netherlands (8%), Algeria (5%), Turkey (5%), Ukraine (3%), Uzbekistan ( 3%), Lithuania (3%), Germany (2%).
Germany (29%), China (18%), Italy (6%), France (5%), Czech Republic (4%), Slovakia (3.7%), Uzbekistan (3.6%), Austria (3.4%), USA (3%), Japan (2.6%) occupy leading importing positions.
Taking into account the special features of the regional economy, engineering products - 43% (mainly aircraft engines and their parts) constituted the main part of exports in terms of value.
They are followed by chemical industry products - 36% (styrene, carbamide, synthetic rubber, butyl ether (butyl acrylate), mono-phenols, soda ash, acrylic acid);
mineral products - 11% (mixtures of hydrocarbons, liquid pyrolysis products, lubricating petroleum oil).
In terms of value, the following imports are in the lead: engineering products - 52% (mainly equipment for the production of oriented strand boards, hydraulic cutting of coke, ceramic tile packaging, cars, forklift trucks);
chemical industry products - 27% (raw materials for pharmaceutical products, catalysts);
metals and products from them - 9.3% (metal-ceramic nozzles, elements and parts of equipment and machine tools, metal zinc, copper wire rod).
