One of the main tasks facing Bashkiria is to become a budget contributor republic, the Acting Head of the region Radiy Khabirov told in an interview with «Vedomosti» newspaper. At the same time, he stressed that the main thing was to spend efficiently the funds received. For 2018, Bashkortostan received from the federal budget 16.43 billion rubles. According to this indicator, the republic was among the top ten Russian regions.
Radiy Khabirov outlined the decline in investment in the republic as the main problem.
“Before the New Year, we have summed up the results of foreign economic activity. I was terrified. For 10 years, by 2018, the level of foreign trade, the volume of foreign investment turned out to be the smallest even in comparison with 2008”, shared Radiy Khabirov.
He cited the example of neighboring regions where indicators of investment activity were better - Chelyabinsk, Yekaterinburg, Kazan.
“Bashkiria has no uniform infrastructure for attracting investments, the work was conducted frantically and discretely, there was no consistent work with investors. In addition, we have numerous funds, development corporations - there is no single investment authority”, the head of the region said.
Since “Investment Hour” sessions were launched, where investors' problems were solved on-the-spot, several large investors had come to the republic. They have been implementing projects for a total of 60 billion rubles.
"The largest ones are from 2 billion to 30 billion. GC "PSK-6"- 37 billion, LLC "A7 Agro-RB" - 3.4 billion, a group of companies "Hevel" - 10 billion, LLC "Pobeda" - 2, 3 billion. Some of them are new investors, some of them are those who came to the republic, but failed to win through”, said Radiy Khabirov.
In the interview, the head of the republic announced a big meeting with representatives of Russian Helicopters in February regarding a helicopter plant in Kumertau. So far the plant is provided with contracts only until next year.
In addition, Radiy Khabirov assured that Ufa airport would remain in state ownership and would continue its development. He stated a halt of the first concession project regarding another major infrastructure facility - the Sterlitamak-Magnitogorsk highway.
