Trolley bus made in Bashkiria will carry passengers from Simferopol to Yalta in Crimea

UFA, 21 January 2019. /Bashinform News Agency, Azat Gizatullin/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.
In April of this year in Crimea, an experimental operation of a trolleybus with a standalone mode will be launched. Last Friday, during the visit of the Crimean delegation to Ufa, an agreement was signed between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea, the “Ufa Tram and Trolleybus Plant” and the Crimea Development Corporation. This will be a low-floor trolley with a standalone function. It can cover a distance of several tens of kilometers, regardless of the overhead wiring. The standalone system charge is charged during movement under the overhead wiring.
According to the vice-premier of the Crimean government, Mikhail Seleznev, the new trolleybus will help increase transport coverage in areas not equipped with contact overhead wiring.
“The Bashkir trolleybus will start carrying passengers on the world's longest trolleybus route Simferopol - Alushta - Yalta. According to the results of the test, proposals for further cooperation with the Ufa enterprise will be formed”, said Mikhail Seleznev.
The Bashkir trolleybus will be presented in April this year during the 5th Yalta International Economic Forum. The general director of the Ufa tram-trolleybus plant Denis Rassadnikov told the Bashinform News Agency that an agreement had been reached on designing trams for Evpatoria.
“We are also going to present a project and a concept of a new tram for Evpatoria in the framework of the Yalta Economic Forum. The price of a new trolleybus with a standalone mode is 18.5 million rubles, many new developments have been applied in it. The cost depends on technical innovative functions, which are installed at the request of the customer”, said Denis Rassadnikov.
The standalone low-floor trolleybus “Gorozhanin” was developed jointly with the “NefAZ” enterprise and was presented in April 2018. It is equipped with GLONASS, Wi-Fi, multimedia, video surveillance, air conditioning modules, an automatic passenger fare collection system - custom-tailored. Denis Rassadnikov explained that the production capacity of the plant allows producing up to 50 trolleybuses per year. It is 90% a Russian product. Only axles that are imported from Germany and Hungary are used in it.
