Crimean delegation examined capabilities of Nuclear Medicine Center in Ufa

The Ufa Center for Nuclear Medicine "PET Technology" was another facility visited by the delegation of the Republic of Crimea. The medical director of the center Pavel Golovin told the guests that the hospital was opened in May 2014. The volume of investments amounted to about 1 billion rubles. The main activity is to diagnose cancer using the PET method and to treat tumors with a Cyber Knife radiosurgical system.

“During this time, almost 20 thousand PET/CT studies and 1470 operations on the Cyber Knife system have been conducted in our center. More than 90% of patients received help free of charge at the expense of the compulsory medical insurance, 6% of patients were from other regions, 4% received medical care at their own expense”, Pavel Golovin noted.

The Deputy Chairmen of the Council of Ministers of Crimea, Mikhail Seleznev and Alla Pashkunova examined the work of the cyclotron-radiochemical complex, the PET scanner and Cyber-Knife.

The Nuclear Medicine Center today has a unique system of production, quality control and delivery of radiopharmaceuticals in Russia. They allow diagnosing tumors of the breast, lung, prostate, and melanoma. The production center in Ufa daily makes up to 70 doses of drugs.
