At a briefing session in the Government, on December 28, the issue of investment in the republic was discussed again. A few days ago, the Acting Head of the republic, Radiy Khabirov, called the situation as “rock-bottom”.
“We currently have no effective infrastructure for working with investors,” said Radiy Khabirov at the meeting today. “It is fragmented, non-systemic. Unfortunately, due to my official position, I cannot make systemic changes in the government bodies in the republic. But we have no time to wait; we need to create jobs already. Let's work with what we have and search for work schemes. One of these forms is an “Investment Hour”. Every week we, in spite of everything, sit down and work out the problems with each investor”.
In a month and a half, as the format was introduced, six Investment Hour sessions were held in Ufa, 19 projects were reviewed at them, of which six are under implementation and five are signed agreements worth more than 75 billion rubles. If these projects are implemented, more than 3 thousand jobs will be created in Bashkiria.
Investors in the industry are the most active - they have presented ten projects at Investment Hour. Five projects were reviewed in the field of agriculture, two – developer ones, per one - in tourism and culture.
The greatest number of investment projects is planned for implementation in Ufa, in Sterlitamak and Ufa region expectedly. The Tuymazy, Meleuz and Ishimbay districts are also active.
In the near future, another 36 projects will be presented at the “Investment Hour”, including a plant for the production of tractors, steel wire, a goat farm and cattle breeding complex, and an art park creation in Ufa.
The Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the State Committee for Construction, the State Committee for Trade, the State Committee for Entrepreneurship, which had failed to submit a single investment project, were subjected to separate criticism by the head.
Today in Bashkortostan, according to the website of the Ministry of Economic Development, the list and register of priority investment projects include a total of 123 projects worth 500 billion rubles, for which they are supposed to create about 24,000 jobs. Each project will be revised and decisions will be taken on its implementation or termination, said Alexander Sheldyaev, director of the economic development department of the Government Office of the Republic of Bashkortostan. Recall that investment projects in Bashkiria, recognized as priority ones, receive benefits on income and property taxes, as well as benefits when connecting to infrastructure networks.
