Bashkiria residents received almost 7 million overseas parcels in less than year

UFA, 21 December 2018. /Bashinform News Agency/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. In less than a year, residents of Bashkortostan received almost 7 million foreign parcels with commodities, the Office of the Federal Postal Service RB informs. From January to October, the postal service handled 6.1 million shipments arriving from abroad – by one third more than in 10 months of 2017 (then there were 4.6 million pieces).
After global sales in November, mail traffic grew: if, for example, in October, an average of 21 thousand packages arrived per day, in the period from November 24 to December 7, 22.3 thousand.
The customs reminded that the duty-free value of the goods will decrease. Now, citizens can receive overseas parcels worth less than 1,000 euros and weighing no more than 31 kg for a month without paying a fee. From January 1, 2019, the amount of 500 euros will become duty-free, from January 2020 - 200 euros (duty-free weight will not change - 31 kg).
Excess cost or overweight is now paid in the amount of 30% of the total cost per each kilogram, but not less than 4 euros (approximately 311 rubles at the current exchange rate). The same scheme will remain in force in 2019. Since 2020 - 15% of the cost, but not less than 2 euro per 1 kg of "excess" weight will be applied.
