Central Bank reports prices increase next year

UFA, 20 December 2018. /Bashinform News Agency/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. Prices for gasoline, cigarettes, wine, and cars will rise in 2019; it is stated in a report "On Monetary Policy" by the Central Bank. The report was studied by "Izvestia". According to forecasts of the regulator, due to changes in excise taxes, fuel and tobacco will rise in price within 4.6%, alcohol - by 0.9%, and cars - by 0.2%.
At the same time, amid the VAT growth, inflation will accelerate from 4 to 5-5.5%. And if this tax does not affect all groups of goods - for food the rate will remain preferential, then higher prices for gasoline will affect transportation costs, and they will be borne by almost all manufacturers. Because of this, home appliances, electronics, footwear, clothing, and transport services will rise in price next year. Bakery products, fruits, and vegetables are also at risk - the share of transportation and storage costs is also high in their price.
