Bashkortostan large and medium business sees CIS markets as perspective - survey

In the next three to five years, the large and medium business of Bashkiria can be present in the CIS markets. This opinion is shared by about 70% of company executives surveyed by the Institute for Strategic Studies of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

By 2030, the republic is more represented as a leader in the fuel and energy sector (33%) and agriculture (32%), to a lesser extent - in the field of tourism (41%) and innovation (32%).

The companies for the survey were selected by region and revenue size (the minimum threshold is 800 million rubles) in the RUSLANA specialized database of Russian companies.

The survey was conducted in September-November 2018 using the online survey method. It included the leadership of 45 companies of large and medium-sized businesses in Bashkiria, with an average of 2,300 employees.

As reported by the Bashinform News Agency, the foreign trade turnover of Bashkiria for 10 months of 2018 reached $ 4.54 billion. This is by 13.4% more than a year ago.

The top ten countries-counterparties include Latvia, Belarus, China, Germany, Kazakhstan, India, the Netherlands, Turkey, Finland, and Poland. The trade turnover with these countries amounted to $ 3.45 billion, or 76% of the republican foreign trade turnover.
