French SUEZ company eliminates accumulated environmental damage in Ufa

In Ufa, the French SUEZ company is implementing four projects on the environmental damage elimination and urban management. On December 12, the SUEZ CEO for Italy, Central and Eastern Europe, CIS François Carmantrand and representatives of the Ministry of Construction and Housing of the Russian Federation visited the municipal enterprises Ufagorsvet, Ufavodokanal, and wastewater treatment plants.

SUEZ already has experience working with Ufa oil plants. “The leadership of the republic is very interested in turning Ufa into one of the most modern cities in the country, and the experience of the French company, the world leader in eco-projects, will help with this,” said the Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing Utilities of the Russian Federation Andrei Chibis.

Francois Carmantrand announced the four projects selected. This is an elimination of sludge deposits remaining after sewage treatment, elimination of environmental damage at MSW sites, the modernization of the system of urban resources smart management, a creation of an environmental technology park - the most complex project requiring investments. The environmental technology park is a garbage cluster, a complex of facilities for processing, recycling and disposal of waste. By 2030, in Russia, according to the approved strategy for the waste recycling industry development, 70 environmental technology parks shall appear while only the first is being built - in Nizhny Novgorod.
