Acting Head of Bashkortostan demanded to pay off wage arrears until the New Year

UFA, 10 December 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Elmira Sabirova/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. Wage arrears in Bashkortostan amounted to 635.6 million rubles as of December 1 of the current year. Such data were given by Tatiana Astrelina, head of the State Labor Inspectorate in RB, during a briefing session held by the Acting Head of the republic Radiy Khabirov at the Government of the republic.

“But this figure is not final. Since it does not take into account the so-called latent wage arrears, which can be identified only on legal grounds”, Tatiana Astrelina explained. “Starting from 2015, the work on identifying actual wage arrears shows an increasing tendency. If as of January 1, 2015, it was 152 million rubles, then as of January 1, 2018 this figure increased to 481.8 million rubles, and as of December 1 it was already 635.6 million rubles”.

Of the total wage arrears, from 65 to 75% are accounted for bankrupt enterprises. As of December 1 of this year, over 400 million rubles were accounted for 77 such debtors.

According to Tatiana Astrelina, there is no systemic supervision in the republic, primarily by the prosecutor’s office, over the activities of insolvency officers. At the same time, it is known that violations are allowed by insolvency officers when disposing and selling the property of debtors, which subsequently make it impossible to repay debts to citizens and the budget.

Tatyana Astrelina said about the necessity to take control of enterprises in bankruptcy proceedings and having wages debts.

The head of the State Labor Inspectorate RB clarified that the debt of 635 million rubles was formed in regard to 13,141 people.

The Acting Head of the republic Radiy Khabirov stressed that just before the New Year, December 28, he would like to hear the reports by the heads of municipalities how the wages arrears were paid off.
