French cheese company CEO highly estimated Bashkir milk quality

The French company Savencia Fromage & Dairy CEO, Jean-Paul Torris highly estimated the quality of milk produced in Bashkiria. The world's leading manufacturer of cheeses shared his opinion at a plenary session of the “Russia Calling” Forum with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Torris noted that after the introduction of sanctions, the company stopped importing its cheese to Russia. Therefore, it was looking for a place to start production in the Russian Federation. In March of this year, the company acquired a majority stake in “Belebeevsky Dairy Plant” JSC from the Neral Group of Companies.

In the near future, the French company will begin to modernize the Bashkir enterprise and introduce innovations to improve the quality of cheese, the Ministry of Agriculture RB reports.

The family-owned Savencia Fromage & Dairy Company, formerly known as the Bongrian brand, was established in 1956. It ranks fourth in the world and second in France in the production of cheese. The company profile is delicacy cheeses, in which segment it occupies the leading position in the world.

Today the company has its production branches in 30 countries of the world, annually processing over 4 billion liters of milk. Its dairy products are represented in 120 countries. Net revenue of the company exceeds 4 billion euros. The concern’s products first appeared in the Russian market in 1992 after the establishment of a trade representative office in Moscow.
