UFA, 22 November 2018. /Bashinform News Agency/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. Botulinum toxin developed in Ufa is recognized as the leader of import substitution in the pharmaceutical industry. The drug “Relatox” of the Ufa plant “Imunnopreparat” (a branch of NPO “Microgen”) became the winner of the National Prize “Priority - 2018” in the nomination “Pharma”. The drug is used not only in cosmetology but also to relieve the effects of severe neurological diseases.

“Relatox has been used in the aesthetic practice in more than 650 thousand patients over the past five years. The drug is also used in patients with spasticity of the upper limbs after a stroke and is the first Russian medicine to treat spastic forms of cerebral palsy and hyperhidrosis”, the company’s press service informs.

The drug is produced in full cycle from Russian raw materials, and a specially developed purification technology makes it possible to get rid of 90% of high molecular weight protein contaminants before the cultivation stage, which reduces the overall protein load on the body and minimizes the likelihood of allergic reactions. Its development began in 2001. In 2017, the drug was included in the state register of medicines on a perpetual basis.
