Bashkiria needs another 653 video recording cameras to reduce road accidents

UFA, 16 November 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Ksenia Kalinina/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. To reduce transport risks in Bashkortostan, dangerous sections of roads need to be additionally equipped with 653 units of hardware and software systems for automatic recording of traffic violations. The head of the regional traffic police Dinar Gilmutdinov stated this at a press conference on November 15.
“Total about 200 video-recording complexes operate in Bashkiria,” the head of the department noted. “The Acting Head Radiy Khabirov has already instructed us to go into the issue, and we, in turn, have defined 653 concentration places where cameras are needed to reduce transport risks. As soon as the funding starts, the situation will immediately change”.
According to Dinar Gilmutdinov, the issue of acquiring photo and video cameras is under the jurisdiction of the Government RB.
In addition, the accident rate on the roads depends largely on the permissible speed of movement on a particular stretch of the road.
