Best architectural and urban concept project of Ufa embankment is named

UFA, 15 November 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. The Union of Architects of Russia announced the laureates of the competition for the development of the architectural and town-planning concept of the Belaya River embankment in Ufa.

The contestants were supposed to offer a town planning composition that forms a comfortable environment at the Ufa embankment.

The first place and a cash prize of 500 thousand rubles were received by a team of nine authors. They presented the embankment as the “third center” of Ufa. The winners’ concept is “crystallization of the city center of the next generation”.

The embankment as the “third center” of Ufa is “a territory full of cultural, sports and public facilities”.

It is equally important to preserve the natural landscape, to strengthen steep slopes, to plant trees, grass, to create a “harmonious ratio of buildings and green areas”.

The concept developers also propose to reconstruct the existing embankment, to correct the proportions of the green slope and the waterline, to create a multifunctional sports and entertainment center with a yacht club.

Reconstruction of the Belaya River embankment in Ufa began in 2014. So far this is the most expensive infrastructure project of recent years. According to the newspaper Kommersant-Ufa, the total cost of the Ufa embankment reconstruction was estimated at 12 billion rubles in 2017.
