State support for Bashkortostan agro-industrial complex amounted to 5.8 billion rubles in 2018
UFA, 1 November 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Azat Gizatullin/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. The agrarian and industrial complex of Bashkortostan celebrated its professional holiday with good results. Nearly 3.3 million tons of grain were harvested, livestock breeders yielded more than 1.3 million tons of milk and produced more than 285 thousand tons of meat. More than 1 million tons of sugar beet have already been harvested, the Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkortostan Rustem Mardanov announced at a ceremony of awarding the best agricultural workers. He noted that currently, the agrarian sector of the republic should work effectively in order to successfully compete not only with the regions of Russia but also with agricultural producers from foreign countries. To do this, sustainable enterprises with well-trained professionals should be formed. The agricultural cooperative business began to develop actively in the republic. This year more than 200 agricultural cooperatives were registered.
“In 2018, the state support for the agro-industrial complex of Bashkortostan amounted to 5.8 billion rubles. We continued to support the rural workers in terms of subsidizing the production of milk, the purchase of agricultural equipment, breeding animals, and mineral fertilizers. But in the short term, we should optimize the structure of the subsidies allocation. Most of the state support will be aimed at developing large investment projects in the agro-industrial complex”, said Rustem Mardanov.
As of today, 40 major investment projects are being implemented in the region totaling more than 80 billion rubles. At the same time, there are already positive examples in the republic when foreign business began to invest in agriculture. This is the Italian company Gruppo Cremonini, which launched the construction of feedlots for 9,000 cattle with an investment of 1 billion rubles. Over five years, more than one thousand new jobs should appear at new enterprises. The German company EkoNiva plans to construct 2-3 cattle-breeding complexes for 6,000 heads in the republic. The cost of one complex, designed for 2800 heads, will amount to about 2 billion rubles.
According to Rustem Mardanov, the agriculture of Bashkortostan, despite the fact that the region is in a zone of risky farming, has very good prospects, but innovative technologies should be introduced more actively. During the ceremony, state awards and diplomas of the Government of the Republic were awarded to 245 best workers of the agricultural complex of Bashkortostan by the Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkortostan Rustem Mardanov.
