Radiy Khabirov ordered to suspend natural stone mining in Bashkiria

Today, the Acting Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, at a briefing session in the Government RB, ordered to suspend the natural stone mining in the region and check all enterprises engaged in the extraction of building materials.

Yesterday, the Acting Head of the republic visited a quarry near the village of Temyasovo in the Baymak district, where mining was taking place. He called a real catastrophe the numerous facts of the illegal mining of this stone in almost all areas of the Trans-Urals region. Only in the Baymak district, there are more than 40 such places where the stone is mined by a barbaric method without performing any restorative works.

“I am not against of quarry operation, but it should be conducted in a civilized manner, and the bulk of revenues should be channeled to solve the problems of the district,” said Radiy Khabirov. “The entire volume of mined stone goes to Moscow, Moscow region, Grozny. Why do we sell if we do not get anything from it? Maybe it is better to abandon the extraction? We get a maximum of five million rubles to the budget from this”.

The Acting Head of the republic ordered to suspend the issuance of all licenses and organize the verification of the works correctness under the existing licenses. Radiy Khabirov also noted that in the near future he would focus on two more issues: forest harvesting and illegal hunting of wild animals.

“The hunting should be extremely civilized and sparing”, said the Acting Head of the republic.
