Renewable energy production will grow by 10% per year in Bashkiria - Energy Forum

UFA, 23 October 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. In the capital of Bashkiria, the Russian Energy Forum opened - one of the largest in the country, as well as the "Ural Energy Sector" international exhibition.

Representatives of the country's energy and industrial companies, science, business from 12 regions of Russia and six countries of the world participate in the 18th forum.

“I supervise import substitution and I can say that today our government and large state corporations are increasingly targeting domestic producers. One of the objectives of this forum is to ensure that our manufacturers get contracts in Russian corporations, find each other without intermediaries, ”stressed First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Energy Committee Igor Ananskih at the Russian Energy Forum in Ufa.

As the head of the Department of State Energy Policy of the Ministry of Energy of Russia Alexey Kulapin declared, the agenda of the forum also becomes more and more interesting from year to year.

The key topic of the plenary session of the forum this year was the development of alternative energy.

According to the Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkortostan Rustem Mardanov, for the republic “it is extremely important to understand the current trends in the electric power industry, how they will develop in the near future since this sphere is considered a priority”.

The shortage of energy facilities has been felt in the region for more than a year, especially in the Bashkir Trans-Urals.

Last year, Bashkortostan produced 23.8 billion kilowatt hours, the consumption was 27.2 billion. This year, as well as a year ago, electricity consumption is also increasing.

“The strategy of socio-economic development of the republic, calculated until 2030, implies an acceleration of economic growth. In our strategy, the average growth rate of GRP is assumed to be 3.1 percent. For this year, we expect a growth rate of around 1.5 percent. At the same time, the rate of electricity generation until 2030 in the region is planned to be noticeably lower than the rate of GRP - about 1.2 percent,” said Rustem Mardanov. “Certainly, we are actively developing various types of energy, including renewable. Let me remind you once again: if the growth rate of GRP is assumed to be 3.1 percent, then the growth rate of these sources is projected at around 10 percent.”

The Strategy for the Spatial Development of Russia is currently being developed. Bashkiria also has submitted its proposals, including in terms of the energy complex development.

“Among them, there are the facilities requiring development in our republic. First of all, it is the reconstruction of the already existing energy facilities, in particular, Karmanovskaya GRES power plant. Our proposals also include the construction of new facilities. This is primarily the Nizhne-Suyanskaya GRES power plant. We do not know yet whether these proposals will be taken into account. It is planned to adopt the Spatial Development Strategy of Russia by November 1 of this year”, the Prime Minister of the republican Government added.
