Official delegation of Switzerland arrives in Bashkiria

UFA, 23 October 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. On October 23, a delegation led by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland to Russia Yves Rossier arrives in Bashkortostan.

“The purpose of the visit of the Swiss delegation is to get acquainted with the current state and plans for the development of the chemical, energy and engineering sectors of the regional economy, meeting with the business community of Bashkortostan to work out possible joint projects,” said Vener Galiakbarov, the official representative for the Russian Foreign Ministry in Ufa.

The program of the visit includes meetings with the leadership of Bashkortostan, the chairman of the Central Spiritual Board of Muslims of Russia, the Supreme Mufti Talgat Tajutdin, as well as meetings with the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic Azat Fazlyev and representatives of business circles of Bashkortostan.

Besides, the official delegation of Switzerland will visit the ECM enterprise, Bashkir State University, the House of Bashkir Honey, will get acquainted with the work of the "Batyr" sports school, Children's Clinical Hospital.

The delegation of Switzerland will stay in the republic from October 23 to October 25.

The foreign trade turnover of Bashkortostan with Switzerland last year was at the level of 15.6 million US dollars. Of these, exports accounted for about 8.124 million dollars, imports - 7.477 million dollars.

In 2017, mainly aluminum alloys (99.99%) and pharmaceutical products were exported to Switzerland. And, vice versa, during the same time, mainly different equipment arrived in Bashkortostan (95.1%).

In the first nine months, the trade turnover between the parties exceeded 5.972 million US dollars.

As of January 2018, six enterprises created with the capital from Switzerland operate in Bashkortostan.
