Air travel to Far East, Simferopol and Kaliningrad will be subsidized all year round

Subsidizing passenger flights to the Far East, Simferopol and Kaliningrad will be carried out all year round. Rosaviatsiya put forward such an initiative, having prepared amendments to the relevant government decree.

It is expected that they will be approved in November 2018 and will come into force from the date of signing, Rosaviatsia informs.

Now flights to these destinations are performed from March 1 to December 1 annually.

Besides, members of large families will have the right to fly at subsidized fares. For the time being, only pensioners, students and disabled people can fly at special rates.

This is especially important for residents of the Far East. Tickets for a special fare to cities in this region are lower than commercial from 30 to 400 percent, depending on the company and direction.

And this year additional funds have already been allocated for the passenger transportation to the Far East, a total of 400 million rubles. This will allow putting up for sale at least 40 thousand tickets until December 31.

In 2018, there are 12 airlines operating special fares flights to the cities of the Far East, Simferopol and Kaliningrad: PJSC Aeroflot - Russian Airlines, JSC “Red Wings”, JSC Ural Airlines”, JSC “ALROSA Airlines”, “Sibir Airlines”, JSC “Izhavia”, JSC “Azimut Airlines”, JSC “Yakutia Airlines”, JSC “NordStar Airlines”, JSC “Nordavia ”, PJSC “UTair Airlines”, LLC “North Wind”.

From March 1 to October 1, 2018, the airlines transported 346 thousand passengers at special fares to the Far East, 83 thousand passengers to Simferopol and 43 thousand passengers to Kaliningrad (472 thousand people in all directions), having sold 532 thousand tickets for seven months.
