Startups accelerator GenerationS from RVC will be opened in Bashkortostan

UFA, 17 October 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Alfiya Agliullina/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. Bashkortostan will be a pilot region of the RVC GenerationS corporate accelerator franchise. The corresponding agreement in the framework of the "Open Innovations" International Forum was signed by Deputy General Director - Director for Development of Innovative Infrastructure of RVC Mikhail Antonov and General Director of the Development Corporation of the Republic of Bashkortostan Oleg Golov.

Under the terms of the agreement, partners who receive a status of GenerationS official representative offices provide advanced training for managers of innovation infrastructure facilities and development of acceleration mechanisms using RVC methodology, as well as allow local start-ups to get assistance in finalizing a project for presentation to investors.

Various subjects of the innovation ecosystem can be the GenerationS franchisee's customers: universities, business incubators, technology parks, development corporations, clusters, and innovation support funds. They can independently launch the selection and acceleration of projects under the GenerationS brand, conclude agreements with corporate partners in their regions.

The Republic of Bashkortostan occupies the fifth line of the annual ranking of subjects of the Russian Federation in terms of innovative development, which is annually made by the Higher School of Economics. The republic also participates in the development of the National Technology Initiative and is a “candidate region” for the implementation of the regional model of National Technology Initiative.

GenerationS is a federal platform for developing corporate acceleration tools. It has been held by RVC since 2013. To date, the accelerator infrastructure includes more than 14,000 startups from 30 countries, 400 corporate and ecosystem partners. GenerationS was the first Russian accelerator to be included in the international network of GAN accelerators created by Techstars.

RVC JSC is a state fund of funds, institute for the development of the venture industry in the Russian Federation. The main objectives of RVC JSC are to stimulate the creation of a private venture investment industry in Russia and fulfill the functions of the Project Office of the National Technology Initiative (NTI).
