Subsidies will be allocated for purchase of European dark bee colonies in Bashkiria

UFA, 9 October 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Rozaliya Valeeva/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. Subsidies in the amount of 50 percent of the cost will be allocated to beekeepers for the purchase of European dark bees, which will be bred in the Altyn-Solok reserve in breeding apiaries. This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture of Bashkortostan Ilshat Fazrakhmanov. The money will be allocated on the program of the beekeeping development until 2030. It is planned to be adopted at the end of 2018 and to be implemented from the beginning of 2019.
At present, beekeepers in Bashkiria breed local European dark bees, as well as Carniolan bees and Carpathian bees. As noted by the Minister of Agriculture, a ban on the breeding of these breeds of bees is not planned. However, their import will be monitored, and imported insects will undergo mandatory quarantine. Beekeepers will receive the right to import insects into the territory of the republic after veterinarians check apiaries and bees.
In Bashkiria, there are 335.9 thousand bee colonies, of which 9.6 thousand are in agricultural enterprises, 31.7 thousand colonies in peasant farms, and private beekeepers contain 294.6 thousand bee colonies.
