Bashkir Sibay and Chinese Leshan agreed on joint implementation of investment projects

The delegation of the Republic of Bashkortostan visited the People's Republic of China at the invitation of the Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Yin Li and the Mayor of the People's Government of Leshan City Zhang Ton.

Representatives of Bashkortostan visited the cities of Chengdu and Leshan, Sichuan Province, in which more than 80 million people live. This is the fifth largest province in China with developed automobile, aerospace, metallurgical, food, construction and textile industries, which includes 21 cities. The capital of the province is Chengdu with a population of more than 15 million people.

On the first day of the visit, the head of the city of Sibay Rustem Afzalov took part in the China-Russia Interregional Forum on Trade, Economic and Investment Cooperation held in Chengdu. The head of the city acquainted the audience with the investment potential of Sibay, having stressed Bashkortostan’s openness for cooperation and business partnership. Within the framework of the forum, a meeting was held with delegations representing Russia from Bashkortostan, Tatarstan, Udmurtia, Chuvashia, and the Orenburg region, regions where active work was underway to implement investment projects.

Rustem Afzalov met with the Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province Yin Li, discussed with him a construction project of the Cement Plant by the Sichuan Ecological Company "Junghe" in Sibay.

The next day the delegation of Bashkortostan took part in the opening ceremony of the 17th international forum and exhibition of western China. Participants included delegations from 90 countries and regions of the world. The business agenda of the day continued with a meeting with the permanent deputy mayor of Leshan City, Huang Pinling, where options for cooperation between the cities of Sibay and Leshan in various sectors of the economy and social sphere were discussed. Also, a meeting was held with Liu Lei, deputy secretary of the Leshan City Committee of the Communist Party of China.

The Bashkir delegation visited the largest cement plant in Sichuan Province - "Esheng Group" located in Leshan city. This enterprise has a capacity of 12 million tons of cement per year, fully covering the province's needs for cement. The production, which is planned to be opened in Sibay, will be organized with the similar equipment using the same technologies but will have a lower capacity - about 2 million tons per year.

The main result of the visit of the representatives of the Republic of Bashkortostan to China was signing of the Agreement of Intent between the People's Government of Leshan City and the administration of the Sibay city on establishing and developing long-term, effective and mutually beneficial cooperation with the aim of implementing investment projects in the city of Sibay, the municipality administration reported.
