Housing renovation will affect two cities in Bashkiria - Gosstroy

The State Committee for Construction and Architecture of Bashkiria is developing a project to renovate low-rise housing in the republic. The project is being developed on behalf of the Head of the Republic Rustem Khamitov, Artem Kovshov, the Deputy Chairman of the State Construction Committee of the region, stated it the Construction Business Forum in Ufa.

"Taking into account the specifics of the housing construction market in our republic, we understand that the renovation of the housing stock above three floors - five- or nine-storey houses of the Soviet and post-industrial periods - is not expedient. Therefore, we put forward an initiative to renovate low-rise housing - up to two floors, maybe even a private housing stock", Artem Kovshov said.

It is planned that based on the cost per square meter of housing, the renovation will affect such cities of the republic as Ufa and Sterlitamak.

Currently, the federal bill takes into account, among other things, bank financing of private developers involved in the renovation.

According to him, the formulated proposals from the republic will be sent to Moscow for consideration before the end of October.

Renovation of housing stock means the reconstruction or demolition of housing stock objects that are not subject to major repair and housing construction providing the territory for renovation with municipal, transport, and social infrastructure.

To date, the housing renovation program operates only in Moscow.
