Bashkiria is among backbone regions of national economy

UFA, 19 September 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Natalia Ovcharuk/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.The Ministry of Economic Development of Russia published a list of ten backbone regions of the country (forecast until 2024). These subjects of the federation, according to the agency, will form more than half of the total volume of gross regional products in 2018 - 52.1%. The Republic of Bashkortostan is also included in the list, RBC reports.

Also, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Moscow, and Sverdlovsk regions, KhMAO, Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District, Krasnodar and Krasnoyarsk Territories are among the leaders.

"GRP data usually appear in open access with great delay: Rosstat published the results of 2016 only at the end of last year. The Ministry of Economic Development does not give a breakdown by all regions in its forecast, but highlights the growth and decrease record holders", the newspaper reports.

At the end of 2016, GRP of Bashkiria amounted to 1.34 trillion rubles. By this indicator, the republic took the 10th place among the Russian regions. Earlier, the Head of the Republic Rustem Khamitov said that in six years the GRP of the republic should exceed 2 trillion rubles. The Head of the Region stated this at a meeting dedicated to the implementation of the new May Presidential Decree "On national goals and strategic tasks for the Russian Federation development until 2024".
