The region has approved a comprehensive program "Development of the dairy industry in the Republic of Bashkortostan". The corresponding decision of the regional government is published on the portal of legal information.

One of the final outcomes of this program implementation should be to form an image of the republic as the Russian dairy industry leader. In addition, the region plans to create a competitive brand of dairy products - "From Bashkortostan".

At the same time, the share of locally produced dairy products should grow to 80 percent in the republic. The program assumes not only the export of milk and dairy products but also entering the dry, low-fat and whole milk, butter, and cheeses world market.

Earlier, the program for the development of the dairy sector of the republic was discussed at a meeting of the Government of the region, which was held by the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov.

“By 2020, we plan to reach the production of 900 thousand tons of marketable milk per year, and by 2030 this figure should reach 1.5 million tons. The plans are quite big, but they are feasible with proper organization and strict adherence to all the items of the program”, Rustem Khamitov marked.
