Bashkiria will arrange agricultural products export to Asia - Rustem Mardanov

In the long term, significant volumes of agricultural products of Bashkortostan are planned to be delivered to Asia. The Prime Minister of the Government RB Rustem Mardanov told this in an interview with Interfax on the margins of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.

"The local Bashkir market has no shortage of local production for already quite a long time. We are self-sufficient in basic products; we have overproduction of grain, meat, eggs, poultry meat and milk. Almost 40% of agricultural products we export outside the region, providing with them neighbors and foreign countries.

Now we are more focused on the external market, we plan to work actively with the countries of the Asia-Pacific region on the supply of agricultural products, in particular, with China and Vietnam. But logistic corridors should be formed for the proper development of the export sphere".

The agrarian sector has always been one of the key branches of the Bashkortostan economy. In the future, it will remain a priority, but the emphasis will change. Most likely, we will focus on livestock, poultry farming, and production of protected vegetable cultivation", Rustem Mardanov said.

The key moments in the development of dairy cattle breeding are specified in the comprehensive program "Dairy Industry Development in the Republic of Bashkortostan" until 2020 and for the period until 2030. It presupposes structural reorganization of the industry, "consolidation" of agricultural producers. The industry during this time will absorb 60 billion rubles of investments. A number of large projects are already underway. Thus, Stefan Dürr's holding company EkoNiva will construct large livestock complexes in the west of the republic, "A7 Agro" implements a project for the development of dairy farming in Zianchurino district, "Krasnaya Bashkiriya" agricultural enterprise in Abzelilovo district, "Bazy" agricultural enterprise in Chekmagush district of the republic.

In addition, Rustem Mardanov drew attention to projects in the field of horse breeding, as Bashkortostan has the largest number of horses in the country, as well as modern industrial honey production.
