UFA, 12 September 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Elvira Latypova/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. Today is the second day of the 4th Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok. The delegation of Bashkortostan led by the Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic Rustem Mardanov is among the participants. The first event of the second day was a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia Vadim Zhivulin, who oversees the issues of strategic planning. It was also attended by the head of the republican Ministry of Economic Development Sergei Novikov.
At the meeting, in particular, a draft Spatial Development Strategy of Russia until 2025 was discussed, the press service of the Government of Bashkortostan reported. Sergei Novikov briefed the attendees with each element of the strategy. In the near future, the notes to it will be submitted to the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia.
The Spatial Development Strategy of Russia until 2025 establishes industry specialization for each region, based on its industrial and logistic specifics. The draft document singles out one agglomeration as part of Bashkortostan - Ufa, including Ufa and a number of districts: Aurgazy, Blagoveschensk, Blagovar, Iglino, Karmaskaly, Kushnarenkovo, Ufa and Chishmy. The Government of the republic stands for the expansion of the Ufa agglomeration at the expense of the Arkhangelsk, Nurimanovo, Birsk, Mishkino, Chekmagush, Buzdyak and Davlekano districts. In addition, it is proposed to single out another industrial area: Sterlitamak, Salavat, Ishimbay, as well as Sterlitamak and Ishimbay districts. It was conditionally called the South Bashkortostan agglomeration.
Another proposal of the republic is to include the production of computers, electronic optical products, and electrical equipment in the list of Bashkortostan specializations. Now among the competencies are agriculture, mining, petrochemistry, metallurgy, instrument making, machine building, tourism, IT, furniture, clothing, food, medicine, and medical products.
