Bashkortostan non-profits attracted 106 million rubles for their projects implementation

UFA, 4 September 2018. /Bashinform News Agency/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. The Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov met with the head of the Public Chamber RB Olga Panchikhina. One of the issues discussed during the meeting was support of non-profit organizations activities in the region.
According to Olga Panchihina, the Office of the Public Chamber of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Non-Profit Organizations Resource Center, established in 2016 with the support of the Head of the Republic, assist non-profit organizations in preparing applications for the presidential grants. For one and a half year, non-profits managed to attract 106 million rubles for the implementation of their projects.
“Applications can be sent for the second contest of presidential grants until September 10. According to its results, more than 4.5 billion rubles will be distributed. The task of the Resource Center and the Public Chamber, in cooperation with the Government of the Republic, is to make sure that there are as many high-quality applications as possible," said the Chairman of the Public Chamber of RB. “We propose to engage the expert community of the republic in the competitions conducting, as well as to work out common standards for the applications development. This will enable our non-profits to participate more actively in the distribution of grants at the regional and federal levels.”
Olga Panchihina stressed that compared to the last year the activities of non-profit organizations in the region intensified. Thus, according to the results of the first contest of presidential grants, Bashkortostan non-profits received 31 million rubles (in 2017 - 14 million). According to the number of applications submitted, the republic took the fourth place in the country.
The head of Bashkortostan called for strengthening work with non-profits and increasing the amount of funds involved in their implementation.
“We have learned to receive funds, including federal grants. Since another 4.5 billion rubles will be distributed, I think we need to receive at least 120 million rubles from these funds taking into account the proportion of our population. We should work with our non-profit organizations, study Russian and foreign experience”, Rustem Khamitov said.
