Bashkiria agrarians increase winter crops

In Bashkortostan this autumn, 600 thousand hectares of winter crops will be sown, the Ministry of Agriculture RB reported. Last year 515 thousand hectares were planted (about 2 million hectares of spring crops). Winter crops yield more stable, as the evidence from practice shows. Specialists also believe that growing winter crops in the local climate is more effective, the department specialists mark. The average yield of winter crops this year was 22.4 centner/ha, spring yield - 17.5 centner/ha.

Following the harvesting campaign, it is expected to collect about 3 million tons of grain, more than 1 million tons of sugar beet, 252,000 tons of sunflower, 955,000 tons of potatoes, and nearly 300,000 tons of field vegetables.

In general, the yield is slightly lower, but at the same time, the export price for flour milling wheat increased by 18%, in the republic - by one and a half times, from 6.5 to 9 thousand rubles per ton, depending on the grade.
