Bashkortostan foreign trade turnover increased by 10.5 percent

The foreign trade turnover of Bashkortostan for six months of this year reached 2.68 billion dollars, which is by 10.5 percent more than a year earlier. This was announced at a meeting of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan on the results of the social and economic development of the region in the first half of 2018, held by the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov.

The non-resource-based exports, which are a key indicator within the framework of the May presidential decree, increased by 23.8 percent. According to the Ministry of Agriculture RB, the volume of agricultural products export of the republic exceeded $ 40 million for five months. Priority directions of export are fat-and-oil products, sugar, biological preparations, and grain. In particular, processing of rapeseed will be launched this year at the Chishmy oil extraction plant.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Bashkortostan Government - Minister of Land and Property Relations RB Evgeny Guriev, by the end of the year, it is planned to adopt a regional project aimed at export development in the republic.

“The main target for Bashkortostan is to be always in the top ten regions of the country's leaders. We have resources for this. The results of the first half of the year, in general, confirm the effectiveness of our policy,” said the Head of the Republic Rustem Khamitov. “Positive macroeconomic trend is ensured in the republic, financial stability is maintained. Significant progress has been reached in many industries.”
