Low-cost trains to appear in Russia

UFA, 2 August 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Rozaliya Valeeva/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. Low-cost trains will appear temporarily in Russian railway, RIA Novosti reports citing the press service of the Federal Passenger Company.

By 2025, the company plans to update 35 percent of the passenger carriages fleet. In this case, carriages without air conditioners and bio-toilets will be formed temporary into an economy-budget class with significantly reduced prices (low cost).

In addition, by 2030 it is planned to introduce three types of trains. "Day Express" will travel for a distance of up to 600 km with duration of no more than 6 hours. "Night Train" assumes a possibility of a full night's sleep, since the journey time will be up to 12 hours. "Traditional Train" will make trips to long distances (more than 1,5 thousand km).

Different levels of comfort will be provided in all types of trains: business class, comfort, economy and a temporary economy-budget class.
